Put AI to work for your people, not instead of them
People practices of top firms, enabled by AI, tailored to your team, by ex-McKinsey founders.
What we put AI to work on
Performance reviews
AI runs the machinery of the review cycle: it collects peer nominations, chases feedback before the deadline, turns raw input into structured summaries, and keeps calibration on schedule. What it never does is write the verdict. The judgment, the rating, the conversation about someone's future stay with the humans who know them. Your managers walk into every review prepared instead of exhausted. See it live.
Onboarding (coming soon)
AI drafts the onboarding plan, schedules the first weeks, nudges the buddy, and answers the "where do I find X" questions new joiners are shy to ask. It does not replace the welcome. Your team still does the lunches, the introductions and the first real project together. The new joiner feels useful, welcome and clear by Friday, and nobody had to build a checklist at 11pm.
Learning & development (coming soon)
AI spots the skill gaps from real work signals, assembles personal growth plans, and keeps them alive between reviews with small weekly prompts. It does not do the growing. Workshops, mentoring and stretch projects remain human work, ours and yours. Your people stop treating development as a January document nobody opens again.
Employer branding (coming soon)
AI turns what already happens inside your team, the wins, the rituals, the way you work, into a steady stream of authentic employer content. It does not invent a culture you don't have. Your voice, your people, your real stories, published consistently instead of in bursts of guilt. Candidates see what it's actually like to work with you before the first interview.
Community management (coming soon)
AI keeps a distributed team connected between the moments that matter: it surfaces wins, remembers birthdays and anniversaries, prompts the right check-ins, and notices when someone goes quiet. It does not fake the caring. It hands your leaders the moment and the context; the reaching out is theirs. Nobody falls through the cracks just because they work three time zones away.
We want to help people have better careers
The same way polar bears are disappearing because we stopped protecting what matters, the human connection in the workplace is disappearing too.
AI has brought extraordinary things into the workforce. It has also flattened everything: it erases uniqueness, over-elevates without giving honest feedback, and builds isolation in the very spaces where people should be growing together. Careers, like people, are not rational, and the best technology in the world means nothing if people don't feel seen.
We believe the answer is not less AI. It is AI pointed at the right target. We put it to work on the admin: the scheduling, the chasing, the forms, the reminders, so your managers get their hours back for the one thing AI cannot do: a genuine conversation with a person they care about.
We know what good looks like. Between us, we spent 15+ years at McKinsey building career frameworks, review cycles and growth systems for some of the most demanding teams in the world. The practices work. The price tag and the corporate heritage don't fit a 40-person agency. So we rebuilt them: the same rigor, stripped of the bureaucracy, powered by AI, and sized for your team.
We protect human connection and help create space for conversations, leading to stronger, more resilient, thriving teams.
The people behind Polar Bear
Pauline Bertry · Product & CX · 8 yrs McKinsey
Pauline spent a decade leading product and design teams, building Design Hubs at McKinsey from scratch in Moscow and Budapest. Her career frameworks and growth systems have been tested with teams of every size, from 5-person hubs to 1000+ global organizations. At Polar Bear she turns them into systems human-size teams actually enjoy using. LinkedIn
Alexey Lobachev · People strategy · 10 yrs McKinsey
Ten years running people, engagement and experience programs at McKinsey taught Alexey the hardest skill in operations: knowing what to delegate, what to automate, and what to leave alone. He applies that instinct to every system we build, deciding where AI helps and where a human must stay in the room. LinkedIn
Alexander Mikhailov · AI products & agents · ex-McKinsey & fintech
Alexander builds the AI layer of Polar Bear: the agents, the integrations, the products like Ron. Ex-McKinsey and fintech, he has shipped digital products people use daily, and he holds our engineering to one standard: if it doesn't make someone's week lighter, it doesn't ship. LinkedIn
Mykyta Klymenko · Tech Lead · ex-Microsoft · ex-Amex
Mykyta spent his career building software at Microsoft and American Express, where reliability is not optional. As Tech Lead he makes sure everything we put inside your Slack or WhatsApp runs securely, quietly, and every single day. LinkedIn
Built with love by people who worked at McKinsey & Company, Microsoft, American Express and PashaPay.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Polar Bear actually do?
We build people ops systems for human-size teams: review cycles, onboarding, growth frameworks. We design them with you, run the first cycles together, automate everything that can run without manual effort, and hand the system over. You own it when we're done.
Who is it for?
Teams of 20 to 200, typically agencies and digital boutiques without a dedicated HR function, where the founder is still carrying the people weight. If your team has grown faster than your people practices, that's us.
Will AI talk to my team instead of me?
No. AI handles the admin: scheduling, collecting feedback, preparing summaries, sending reminders. Every conversation that matters, reviews, career talks, hard feedback, happens between humans. That's the whole point.
What is Ron?
Ron is our AI Talent Manager. He lives in your Slack, Teams, WhatsApp or Telegram and takes the admin of people ops off your plate. Today he runs performance reviews end to end; over time he'll cover the full set of use cases you see on this page, from onboarding to keeping growth plans alive between cycles. One AI employee, growing with your team. You can meet him at meetron.io.
How do we start?
With a conversation, then a small pilot. We start small on purpose, so your team builds confidence before it builds habits. Most teams begin with one review cycle.
Is our data safe?
Yes. Our systems run on your infrastructure, inside the tools your team already uses (Slack, Google Workspace), and your data stays yours. We never use it to train AI models.
